BestTech, an XR and AI creative convergence technology company, announced on the 24th that it has filed a patent for a “3D studio tool providing method” that enables the creation of customized 3D educational content in a web browser environment.

This invention is a technology that allows teachers and students to directly edit and combine complex 3D learning objects to create their own immersive learning materials, and is being evaluated as a core foundational technology that greatly expands the applicability of existing 3D educational content. In particular, it is highly differentiated in that the entire 3D authoring process—including 3D model placement, view configuration, cross-section and exploded views, labeling and note-taking, and slide marking—is all implemented within a web browser.

Until now, most 3D educational content was consumed in the fixed format provided by the original creators, making it difficult for teachers and students to reorganize content according to specific lesson objectives. BestTech’s patented technology addresses this limitation.

According to the patent specification, users in a web environment can intuitively perform key functions needed for customization, such as:
– creating multiple slides,
– placing 3D objects on each slide,
– configuring views (normal, cross-sectional, or exploded) for all or selected objects,
– marking on a per-slide basis, and
– adding labels and notes to specific objects.

The technology also includes a feature in which the web server analyzes each slide’s composition, labeling, view settings, and memo information and automatically classifies slide importance into three levels (1–3). This supports structuring of learning content and lesson design.

The patented technology will be directly integrated with BestTech’s XR education platform EduSpace. EduSpace is a web-based XR platform that runs across all devices—including PCs, tablets, and VR—and is used in various settings such as school curricula, vocational education, and on-the-job training.

Once this technology is applied, teachers will be able to create customized XR lesson units tailored to their classes, while students will be able to build their own 3D learning notebooks that organize what they have learned. This is expected to significantly enhance the platform’s scalability and long-term utilization.

Seo Woo-seung, CEO of BestTech, said, “This patent filing is a technological achievement that presents a next-generation XR education model, where teachers and students directly create their own 3D learning materials,” adding, “We will build an AI–XR convergence-based ecosystem for customized content creation and accelerate the global expansion of EduSpace.”

Recently, BestTech has continued to gain recognition for its technological capabilities and market potential, including the UNESCO-ICHEI IIOE Pioneer Award 2025 (for innovation in smart classroom operations), the K-INNO SHOW 2025 Prime Minister’s Commendation for Management Innovation, investment of 40 billion KRW in valuation from Zero to One Partners and KOSME, and selection for the Gangwon Defense Venture Center development support program. /csjung@sedaily.com
